Warwick House News

Well its’ been a fabulous summer 2016 in Nelson, with lots and lots of long sunny days and light sea breezes.

The house has had a lovely ‘buzz’ all summer with some very interesting guests from at least 30 different countries, staying here and exploring all the great attractions of the Nelson area.
Nick and Jenny managed a few nights off to spend with their Kayak exploring the amazing Abel Tasman national park.

Nelson had all its’ usual festivals – Jazz Festival (January), Opera in the Park (February), long Italian lunch (February), Italian movie festival, French movie festival (March), The Vineyard Concert Series, Busker festival (January) and the ever popular ‘March Fest’ at Founders park’, being a big local favourite with some fabulous bands.

Light Nelson is back this year and we will see some spectacular displays in the Queens Gardens and nearby in mid July. The Arts Festival runs in mid October.

The local boutique breweries are growing all the time – The Freehouse pub on Collingwood Street is a good place to sample the boutique beers at any time or The Sprig & Fern on Hardy Street.

Nelsons’ restaurants are very well renowned for quality food. Pre booking for the more popular ones over Summer and during any holiday periods is very important.

Our favourite restaurant in central Nelson is: Harbourlight Bistro on 341 Wakefield Quay. Enjoying the sunset over Mt. Arthur from the harbor is spectacular and Harbourlight Bistro provides a great ambiance for this.

Vicki our dear black lab is still enjoying the guests. She can’t walk too far now, but still loves some attention.
