Nick and Jenny Ferrier are New Zealanders who have been fortunate to have lived in many overseas countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Germany. We both love the outdoors and all the great activities that Nelson has to offer. Swimming, hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, golfing, skiing, fishing, kayaking and sailing are some of our favourites.
In 2003 we managed to buy Warwick House through an auction and have been on a very rewarding journey of restoration and enhancement to share this exceptional home with our many guests.
Nick was born in Wellington, the son of a Scottish merchant captain and mother a Baltic/German Baroness (Rita von Uexkuell-Guildenband) who married in Singapore in 1959 and moved to New Zealand in 1960. Jenny was born in Auckland, third daughter of a Dunedin born dentist and physiotherapist mother. Her grandparents were born in Scotland, England the Channel Islands. Jenny is an interior designer and part time artist. She was formerly a competitive tennis player, windsurfer and sports coach. Jenny is now a very keen Golfer. Nick has started and managed a large variety of international businesses in various countries and enjoys nearly all known sports. Mountain biking, snowboarding, sailing and paddle boarding are the current favourites. We have 3 grown up children, Daniella, Hamish and Isabella (Isi) who have all lived in different countries. Jupe, our new short haired Border Collie cross has become a new favourite with guests and will happily come along for a riverside walk with you – anytime.
We are pleased to share our home with you and hope you enjoy our efforts to recreate the special historic atmosphere of Warwick House. We feel Nelson is a special area, the true heart of New Zealand. We hope you have an enjoyable visit pursuing the many great activities here.
